What is Video Remote Interpreting?

"On-Site Interpreting" (OSI) is when an interpreter comes in person to your organization. OSI services are great, but must usually be scheduled in advance. Also, OSI services can be expensive since 1 or 2 hour minimum sessions are usually required.

"Video Remote Interpreting" (VRI) is when the interpreter provides services via a video conferencing call into your organization. VRI services have many advantages, and NXi has the most feature-rich, best-performing, and secure VRI product on the market.

In partnership with foreign language and sign language interpreting providers, NTS systems are installed today in many hospitals and other organizations for Video Remote Interpreting services. At the hospital or other site, standard desktop PCs are used for full video and audio interpreting services.

NTS VRI and Network Security

NTS has been installed on high security networks for over ten years. NTS sites include U.S. federal agencies including many Deptartment of Defense sites. In operation, NTS requires only a single outbound network port to a known server location...no inbound "listening" ports are needed across the organization's firewall. Network security personnel who won't allow standard H.323 video calls from the outside, for security reasons, will typically allow NTS.

NTS VRI and On-Site Interpreter (OSI) service provider companies

If you manage or direct an On-Site (OSI) interpretation company, NXi wants to talk to you. NTS's patented technology can provide you a complete package where:

-- the NTS-based VRI services are fully "branded" with your logos

-- your interpreters can work at home or a call center using only a webcam and a headset

-- you can set up new languages or other skills, and easily link skills to your interpreters. When a customer needs an interpreter of a given skill-set, such as "Spanish, female, and familiar with medical terminology, then the NTS system will create a "RingBox" to one or more interpreters matching this need.

-- if an interpreter of a given skill-set is not currently logged into the system, NTS can create calls to cell phones and send text-to-speech or recorded audio asking if the interpreter is available to log in and accept a VRI session.

-- you have "live view" monitors to see which interpreters are logged in, and see a listing of all active VRI sessions in place.

-- the NTS system gathers complete details of all calls, logins, and other activities and creates billing reports
