NXi's flexible NTS platform may be applied to diverse markets and needs. In 2007, NXi created its first "spin-out" company called "NexTalk, Inc." NXi's business model is to create additional spin-out companies in separate and non-competing markets. Each spin-out company will typically pay maintenance fees back to NXi for continued support and improvement of the core NTS platform. In this way, each spin-out obtains access to an extensive and capable technology platform. Each spin-out company has the right to create its own extensions to the platform, or to take over the development of the platform itself if desired.
